Sunday Funday 🏔 🚲 I am excited to have finally gotten a ride in. Well a real ride in, in the okanagan’s version of mountains - lol climbing up them seemed just a difficult as any others I’ve been on 😳😂 We went exploring in a local park, grateful to be able to move about once again. Everyone was lovely and respectful of space. I always think about the infamous Elle Woods quote about people who exercise being happy (as opposed to killing their husbands) and despite the many challenges #covid19 has brought us I am tremendously happy to be living in a small community that supports each of us to move gently and to work collectively to #flattenthecurve. I know it’s challenging postponing and canceling our summer plans, but this is a time to be conscious that the sum is greater than our parts and I for one will happily spend my tourism dollars locally and seek every opportunity to re-experience all that our beautiful province has to offer. I’ve always tried to live my life to a degree by the 10/90 rule. 10% is the stuff that happens to us, and much more important is the 90% which is our decision how we deal with it. A simple lesson which has served me incredibly well over my life. Today was a great recharge, my favourite kind. #naturetherapy #dateday

Weekend Adventure Log No. 2151. All the things, unpacking and organizing my new office, cleaning drywall dust off pretty much every surface, snuggle time with the kitty, admin work, went with first born to buy a car, thanks @kelownanissan, food prep with @r.e.hawse, groceries, new @keurig in white 💕+ a steam mop - lol living my my best domesticated life over here + finally a sudsy middle of town fountain, a two way headwind, a bike ride & a partridge in a pear tree. Just kidding, no partridge but man how much are you loving the lilacs ?? My favourite scent of the year. As I prepare to open my new financial office here in beautiful #VernonBC TOMORROW 🙌🏼 - this is the underlying pillar upon which this business will be built. We aim to be a valuable part of the fabric of both our clients lives as well as our community. I took some time to reflect specifically upon the unique opportunities to learn and grow that I’ve been fortunate enough to participate in over the years. Apparently this past week it was National Caesar Day. Is that how you spell Caesar? It looks wrong. 😂 I digress. I decided to participate, albeit a little late... and share my recipe. As it’s pretty great. I make my own rim, so it’s GF, but use what ever you have. Glass of ice, heaping tsp of fresh horseradish, 1 oz of Bone Broth, usually I use beef but today I used chicken. 1.5 oz of Gin - the best way, alternatively you could use tequila. Today I used @okanaganspirits which I am still raving about. Good squeeze of lemon juice, half an oz of pickle juice. Couple of dashes of Tabasco (I’m a traditional flavour kinda gal, then add your clam juice. Today I used the picked bean flavour 👌🏼 that’s it, give it a good stir to mix the bone broth and the horseradish around and garnish as you feel inclined. Cheese and pepperoni with a little pepperoncini and pearl onion; classic picked bean/asparagus/carrot, celery (not my fav) and enjoy! Hope everyone has a fabulous weekend ahead, we will be enjoying some trees with a little time out of doors and finally moving into my new office - pictures to come next week once @molsonswife & I get settled 🙌🏼🙌🏼 keep safe everyone!
