The HEART of Vancouver Island – Port Alberni, BC, August 10-12th, 2018
What started as a memorial for Zakkaree Coss in 2014 on a private 5-acre property, has grown into a full-scale Music Festival on 32 acres at McLean Mill Historic Park. Dedicated to bringing a next-level event to Port Alberni while showcasing talented artists and performers. Our goal is:
- To provide a venue for these artists to showcase their talent and be heard
- To create an entertainment packed weekend that brings the community together
- To invite visitors in from far and wide to our beautiful city.
We are promoting local youth by working with the Zattzoo Project and their annual Battle of the Bands competition (an event that gives youth, under 25 from all over the island a chance to perform, compete, and earn prizes and a spot on the Shaker Line-up).
This years’ Shaker Music Festival is 3 full days packed with:
- 40 + Multi-Genre artists and performers
- Games & Contests
- Artisan Row – the ultimate in a vender experience
- Yoga & Wellness workshops
- On-site Camping
- Food, Merchandise, Artisan Vendors (massage, henna tattooing, face-painting, caricature artist)
- Live Performers, Comedy Hour & Yoga/Hula Workshops
- Fully Licensed 19+ Event

The Shaker is Five Acre Productions’ premiere annual event. We have aligned our Music Festival with Thunder in the Valley Drag Races in Port Alberni on Aug 12 and 13th 2017. We are the official entertainment for the Drag Races and we invite everyone from the drags out to McLean Mill after the drags are done each day. With the support of our fans and the community alike, our vision is to grow this festival into one of Vancouver Islands’ premiere annual events and put Port Alberni on the festival map. Without the support of our sponsors, volunteers, and fans this event would not be possible. In order for this vision to thrive we need YOU.
