Music Monday: Leonard Cohen
Do you ever just get into a reflective mood and certain artists seem to be very good at perpetuating that mood?
I have been listening to Leonard Cohen since yesterday, some how it was the exact right music for my current life soundtrack.
There are many of his songs that I love, too many to showcase here for sure. BUT the song I think he seems to be most widely known for – I actually prefer covered by Bon Jovi. Have a listen: Hallelujah.
The music critic, Bruce Eder once stated;
Cohen’s overall career in popular music by asserting that “[he is] one of the most fascinating and enigmatic … singer/songwriters of the late ’60s … [and] has retained an audience across four decades of music-making … Second only to Bob Dylan (and perhaps Paul Simon) [in terms of influence], he commands the attention of critics and younger musicians more firmly than any other musical figure from the 1960s who is still working at the outset of the 21st century.
If this is your first time ever hearing this great Canadian Artists name – I’ll leave you with this. Listen, kick back, relax & enjoy.
