Music Monday: Coleman Hell “2 Heads”
LBH Prediction: Coleman Hell is going to blow the hell up and achieve summer anthem status to all the mainstreamers out there.
Have a listen:
Electronic Folk, whaaat?
Turn it up: This song reminds me of back country blue grass – dancing at twilight, under the stars, with fireflies kissing your skin. Trance-like though. Deep beats that keep you moving. This is the type of music I like to become invisible in a crowd for. Everyone moving, breathing, spinning in one alchemic movement.
Coleman Hell is native Toronto artist, and you would be wise NOT to categorize his latest EP as folk, indie or just electronic. There are influences of deep house, pop, hip hop & funk as well. It’s an eclectic mix of sound that works. He’s a lyricist, publishing songs with deep thoughtful vulnerability, that tell stories. With the drop of his EP, Vena in Dec. we’re excited to see what’s up next. The full album: “Srry Bout Last Nite” is due out later this year.
If you want to hear ‘2 Heads’ live:
Toronto’s Bestival this summer is your place.
Go buy it. You won’t regret it.
